An unidentified armed group opened fire in Kurilik, Mulia, Puncak
Jaya, Papua, on Friday at 8 p.m. local time, killing one resident.Puncak Jaya Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Alex Korwa said on Saturday morning that the victim, identified as Kisma Rafiq, who was alone at his stall, died at the scene.
The police received reports from locals who heard gunfire, but were not able to reach the scene until 11 p.m. due to bad weather.
The victim’s body was taken to Mulia city hospital and will be sent to his hometown in West Sumatra.
